Hello all,

Today I've completed my first ride into work (Hillbank to city) totalling 25km.
So I'm just wondering, do you ride to work and where from... Any tips or maybe even a riding partner to help with those nasty nasty headwinds that seem to be around at 7 in the morning.

Cheers,
Brett

Which way did you go?

Down main north road then up the grove way to bridge road into northeast then basically town.

A good route untill you get to Nth East, after the intersection with Nth east i would turn left down to Walkerville Tce. Almost at the end of Walkerville Tce turn left into Gilbert, follow Gilbert St to the end and then join the Linear park. Follow Linear Park and exit either at Frome Road and ride up to the city or University Bridge and ride up Kintore to the city. Trying to turn right from Hackney into Nth Adelaide etc is suicidal at times.

Ditto what Clive said

clive you left out the best street :D Harris rd!!

Coming in from Hampstead Road he would take Lansdowne or St Andrews direct to Walkerville Tce and sadly miss out on where all the nice people live.

oh ok:)

Thanks Clive, appreciate it.. Yea I found that out this morning. But this is all new to me so everything helps and yea up kintore and left into the museum..(got that covered) :)
I hear lots about linear park, just have difficulty finding it.
Thanks guys.

Yes, but I measly 8km from magill into town and then the same home. Leaving earlier helps with the traffic but as I am lazy I usually leave it to the last minute to get out of bed and end up riding in 8am peak hour traffic. My tip is always have your hands on the brakes!

Yeh my fingers are usually always on the brakes. :)

An even more measly 5 km down Beulah Road to town for me.  A lot nicer than Magill Rd although people can be pretty random at the round abouts.   Have to use a lot of "take the lane" and they are not always happy about it.

Magill Rd is horrible. I tend to go across and down the parade (so much smoother and nicer, feat. proper bike lanes for most of it!)
