OK, It's not as simple as running down to the LBS and grabbing these new tyres, but it's nice to see that new developments in cycling aren't just aimed at the sport /pro end of town.

This kickstarter project is for a new airless tyre and wheel system (you have to buy the whole lot together) that rides like a normal road tyre. The concept has room to improve, but for commuters it's something to watch in the future..

Foss Tubes

+10

Except I have managed to puncture a Foss, couldn't repair it, so $25 in the bin.

a poor tradesman always blames his tools.

Pot meet kettle.

$25 for a foss tube!

You do have to use the correct patch kit.

Except the Foss patches are useless., it was a tear in the tube about 5~10mm long

You paid way too much! Easy to repair with correct patches.

We've been selling this type of tyre for many years Don.  Way back in the 80's was Zeus airless tyres, then Green Tyres and Krypton tyres. Also there are PUF airless solid tubes which fit inside your normal tyre. Yes, They all add a bit of weight and the ride is a little harsher,  but you NEVER get a flat.

Wouldnt the ride be a bit lumpy with those nails sticking through the tyre???
