Ok, so I do a lot of hills riding... ride to work into the city then back to home to the hills etc.
A few months ago instead of riding up Norton Summit Rd home I thought I'd give Coachhouse Dr/Woodland Way a crack for the first time.
OMG... it is a total sufferfest! I've never felt so tortured in my life! Absolutely shattered by the end.
So I was pretty hesitatent to give Corkscrew Rd a crack after 80kms on the Ride for Pain this weekend because I'd built it up to be like Coachhouse Dr/Woodland Way in my mind. Once I'd done it, honestly I didn't think it was too bad at all!
So I'd like to know what you'd rate as the 3 hardest climbs you done around Adelaide!
Is Coachhouse Dr/Woodland Way THAT bad lol?!

Bradshaw Avenue off Picadilly Road. Rollercoaster Down, Hard slog back up again. Thankfully, it's only short!
Permalink Reply by Bekster on April 30, 2012 at 16:46 Bradshaw is close by to me, I'll have to suss that out.
Perhaps a good combination for some local suffering would be to ride Bradshaw then loop down to ride up Spring Gully Rd past Woodhouse too... that's short but nasty I find. Have you tried that?
Yes, I have done that loop before.
1 - Coachhouse/Woodland;
2 - Daylight;
3 - Checkers.
Yes it is that bad. The descent is also scary!

Permalink Reply by Sam Young on April 30, 2012 at 14:58 Coach road is up there with coach-house drive, probably harder, it sits well above 20% for a long time there.
Permalink Reply by Adam Williss on April 30, 2012 at 15:13 Which Coach Road? There are lots of roads with this name scattered throughout the hills....
Permalink Reply by Sam Young on April 30, 2012 at 15:48 good point, just off the top of the parade. if you feel particularly masochistic, you can ride the top of kensington, then come down and ride up coach road, then come down and ride coachouse drive. then collapse.
Permalink Reply by Roger ... on April 30, 2012 at 15:56 after conversations here last week my Saturday ride was pretty much that.
http://app.strava.com/rides/7474558 no speed records, in fact nothing notable except a personal "i did it."
Last on most leader boards but a great feel feeling of achievement
Permalink Reply by Bekster on April 30, 2012 at 16:41 Sam and Roger... you're nuts, that's epic lol!
Permalink Reply by Dstone on May 1, 2012 at 1:00 i did coach the other day on the cx. Started from Horsenell gully rd on the dirt rd climb and continued all the way through to the top and went onto greenhill rd. That was a hard day at the office 36x25 made it for all but 400 - 500m.
