Un bloody believable !!
NO we can't understand WHY ,, Ken Sutcliffe !!

you'd think they would record that bit and instead show live sport, not the other way round.  The worst thing is they didn't even try to hide what they were doing.  They've passed off at least one other event that was recorded.

Hmmm, looks like all 9 network stations will be removed from my TV from now on. I was going to watch Howzat! and the new Underbelly series after the Olympics but Channel 9 have now lost me as a viewer FOREVER!!!
What they did was utterly disgraceful, they didn't need to throw to ads but then again their broadcast agreement probably stated they would show the sponsors ads every 5 mins.

should have been recorded and used for filler (of the bin), don't rip off a live event

Just seen it on the recording WTF...

I'm speechless I know the royals would be hard to get but should they would wait to see the race.

Sponsors rule I guess.
And in today's Advertiser a column about ch9's decreasing viewing audience opposed to Foxtel, I wonder why??

In all honesty i think this is what the media companies want.  The more the ratings drop on Free to Air  (FTA) TV they can justify the push towards the Pay TV model.

This would allow them to lobby against the mandatory minimums on FTA TV when it comes to sport.  Why do you think GO stopped being a second all sport channel.

Personally I think it will back fire due to the internet.  As it stands now I hardly ever watch live TV.  Most of the TV shows that I enjoy I download and watch when I want and better yet are ad free.  Don’t get me wrong I would happily deal with the ads or pay for the shows, but due to the restrictions that the media companies put on the other suppliers I am not given that option.

its all humourless and drab.  bring back roy and hg

Then it'd be humourless and gauche.

gauche: [gohsh] adjective
lacking social grace, sensitivity, or acuteness; awkward; crude; tactless:
