Hi Nephew! Hope your well.
Still up on the GC. Did 200k in the sun yesterday.
Hi DR, I did the Tomewin Mountain Rd and Currumbin Vally ride a few weeks ago. Great ride.
Some nice rides in the hills there once you get out of paradise!
Anything will fail if you smash if hard enough.
Perhaps the real issue is do they fail suddenly or give enough warning you have a chance to stop safely?
How durable is a good cro-mo frame?
One of my bikes has a cro-moly frame. It is now 20 years old, and still like new, and has now done over 50,000 km. ( See my pics - - Kuwahara Triathlon ).
Although I have had great service from cro-moly on the road, and still think that it is a good choice, when I was track racing ( Velodrome Perth WA ), I actually ripped both chain stays out of a cro- moly track bike during a sprint finish. Having said that, the bike did have super light, super thin frame tubes. These bikes had the tubes brazed in place, so were easily replaced.
again and again and again. Same stuff different forum
just hope it's not one of those fancy carbon fibre axes! ;)
