I normally ride in the hills of a weekend but this Sunday being forecast as a 31 I thought I might ring in the changes and head down to the beach.
I live near Campbelltown and I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a route (or specifically which roads to avoid). I was comtemplating doing a loop to Semaphore, Henley/Glenelg and back.
Cheers

Try Linear Park to the city, then down Port Road, over the Birkenhead Bridge, left on to Semaphore Road.
Gday Jason,
I thoroughly recommend the whole way via Linear Park cycleway.
It can be a bit bumpy but it is a safe route.
I haven't done it for a while but it is a favourite.
U can't get too much speed though....
+1 for this route, so much joy with no cars! Just watch out for prams, kids, dogs, old people, sticks and the bumpy/rooty path. Then on the way back you could ride up Mike Turtur bikeway, then get onto Greenhill Rd all the way to Glynburn or the next road.
Riding down Grand Junction Road on a Sunday is OK you will see lots of lycra, Semaphore and along the foreshore, assuming you're not starting too early the City/Bay run should be over and the Mike Turter path is a nice way to return to the city with plenty of shady spots to stop and rehydrate as and when required. Cross the city from Sth West cnr to Nth East cnr
via the parklands. Up Rundle St, left into Fullarton, cross over Payneham and wind your way behind St Peters through the avenues to walkerville Tce, Walkerville to OG via Harris Road.
Permalink Reply by Gus K on September 12, 2011 at 16:34 I don't often go that way from C'town but if I do I usually go to the CBD then Anzac Hwy to Glenelg and to Outer Harbour. But if you want to go to OH then try jumping the river at OG Rd, Harris Rd, Walkerville Tce to Park Tce then over to Grange Rd or further round to Henley Bch Rd then up to OH and back via Grange Rd. I wouldn't bother with Grand Junction Rd.
If you are thinking of riding early on Sunday it should be pretty cruisy for traffic but if you are like me and hate the wind then check that forecast - hills end, wind doesn't!
