Permalink Reply by Tim B on June 5, 2012 at 11:41 No worries Mark.
Its not that it was delayed, I recorded it and was planning on watching it today. I'll still watch it, but the interest has gone out of it if you know what I mean.
Geez, what happened to Mr Schlek, dude looked like he was in reverse!

Cadel looked very strong, poor Gerrans getting knocked off, any idea how far back Gerrans is now?

Permalink Reply by Trent on June 5, 2012 at 11:08 fantastic win! unlike some people i dont mind getting updates on here! i for one dont have the time in the day to watch a recorded version. would be the same as telling twitter followers to not tweet or the morning news not to report on it. well done to Cadel!!!
(SPOILER)
Well worth watching the last 5Km. There's a corner with a roundabout, there's a break off the front by two opportunistic riders and Evans hammers after it and catches it. They ride hard and make the break stick, the peleton taking a while to organise itself because it's hard to change position with the roundabout interfering. The break comes up the finish straight: Evans leading, the peleton thundering in the distance. You're waiting for one of the two riders in the break to jump Evans to take the stage; they swing out and sprint; but Evans is a class too good and keeps the lead all the way to the line. Lovely win: tactics, opportunity and strength.
And then the camera moves to the final group. A Schleck chatting with his friends like it is a Sunday ride, yet to even approach the line. The contrast between the two great TdF contenders couldn't be greater. Is Schleck keeping is powder dry, or has he lost the drive to compete, let alone win?
