I've got a Bryton GPS device on my wish list (price advantage is main factor). The Bryton Sports website states that there is a manual workaround for uploading data to Strava. There is no app for Strava such as exists for Garmin. Anybody have experience with Bryton connectivity to Strava (albeit manual upload of .TCX file)? Work ok? Completely? Partially? Not at all?

Yep... export as .tcx file from Bryton's website, import as .tcx file to Strava's.  Has worked for me for many months with few exceptions including cadence etc.

Main problem I'm having at the moment is uploading files where I haven't used the GPS (i.e. when I use the trainer) - Strava says 0km covered, no speed data etc.

Good onya Darren. Thanks.

If you use a GPX file you lose the HRM data but TCX works fine.

if you get the Bryton 20 the USB cable is delicate and you need to treat it gently.

Yes Don, the two little lugs at one end of the USB cable that clip into the back of my Bryton 20, have stopped clipping, in after about 20 uses. So I have tied a couple of rubber bands around that end, leaving two loops of rubber that I wrap around the Bryton 20 to keep the cable clipped up to it. Bit of a pain, but it works.

There is a program available that can read the different tcx, fit and etc and believe can convert them for upload to Strava.....costs around $50 for the full working programme which also allows for repairing damaged files

http://www.gpsies.com/convert.do       free, not sure about damaged files
