Ive grabbed one of these bad boyz. Red Zone 4 by Niteflux.com. An Adelaide based company. I dropped it a stack of times and its water proof if you ever ride your bike off a jetty or just get caught in the rain.

Who has used em? They are a daylight visIble rear light as well.

they are $100.00
they are a good product and very bright
but you can't change the battery so when the battery dies you throw it away so environmentally they are not friendly.
the light is encased in a resin block it is suggested they work underwater,
They have mobile phone type batteries so if you use it a lot the extended warranty will be good value if it covers the battery.

I'm currently writing a review of both the Red Zone and White Zones lights - been very impressed thus far! Been testing them in several situations including when my main head light "failed" on a moonless night outside McLaren Vale and I had to use the steady power of the White Zone to light my way - for what they are I think they are very good value for money!

Being the RC modeller I am, I would like to see their range include flylead head units so you could mount any size battery to them. They have pretty good light output.

I suppose one could use the charging jack to connect an external battery, even after the internal one dies.

I am a bit reserved on the quality of these lights.
I purchased one at the Amy Gillette Grand Fondo but after 2 months the unit failed. Basicly it would not turn off, or would turn on its own, change flashing on its own and go flat very quickly.
I sent the unit back only to have the replacement go bad in less than a month.
Having spoken to Niteflux they did admit that they were having a problem and were hoping to have a new run of units while I was in Adelaide for the TDU. Unfortunately they don’t seem to have received them in time and I am waiting to hear back from them about sending back the current unit.
My annoyance is more with the fact that it’s costing me money every time I send the unit back. This is making what I think is a product with potential not as good value as I first thought.

when ever you got electronics, your always gonna have a problem some where, some time. My macbook keeps going sour on me and Apple just said they would replace my lemon.
Part of having technology at our finger tips is not having it work 100% all the time I guess.
