Hi Diana
Were there no instructions with the lights? I haven't used dynamo lights for decades, but as I recall you need to push a lever so that the dynamo will rub against the tyre as the bike moves......
No instructions in the epic multilingual book! Managed to work it out finally but :D
What kind of Bottechia bike is it ? Can you see the dynamo or is it integrated into the hub or something ?

Michael
Can't remember model *peers out window* but managed to work it out finally in the dark work carpark :S Not hub integrated, just sits to left side of reer wheel. Thanks :D
Without any details of either the bike model or specifically the dynamo and light models its really hard to say.

Possibly the simplest solution is to take it back to where you got it, (assuming it was bought from a LBS). They will be able to show you, not just explain it via the internets.
Got it working! Was just freaking out cos I finished work at 9pm and didn't bring my normal clip-on lights. Not as bright as I would like though, so will double up next time I think!
Hi Diana
If it is a new fangled hub dynamo with a modern light it will either have a switch (usually on the light) that turns it "on" or it has a light sensor which will switch the system on automatically when the ambient light drops (eg: at dusk)...good luck!
Thanks! Finally worked it out :D
