I went to the Bicycle Institute's AGM on May 29 to listen to Tim Horton's presentation which was both interesting and inspiring.

I decided I'd join BISA and completed the online membership application, paid my $50 by direct deposit and then mailed a copy of both the completed membership application and deposit receipt to their mailing address.

I was expecting to hear back from them with some sort of acknowledgement of my payment but no response at all. I also sent a request for confirmation from the Contact Us page on their website.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Is this usual or are there some problems with the membership section at the moment?

Hi, could you email treasurer@BISA.asn.au and it'll be sorted out. The organisation is run by volunteers on the committee, like me, and we are trying to get PayPal payments happening.

Thanks for wanting to join and help add a voice to advocacy in SA.

Angus is right - BISA is a small organisation, run by volunteers, who do what they can, in their free time. They probably don't get much mail - so only clear the GPO box, every so often.

But if they took the money out of your account - that makes you a member!

Stephen, I'm Stephen Janes the BISA Treasurer, your membership has been received and you will be getting your magazine and membership card upon the next issue of Australian Cyclist. Thanks for joining BISA and I'm glad that you were inspired by

Tim Horton, we were all excited by his vision.

Thank you Stephen,

I look forward to being a BISA member and contributing where possible :-)
