New bike racks at Unley Park CIBO.  They've put in three of them.  I guess they are trying to cope with the large numbers of bikes they get there sometimes. The silver (aluminium) sheets saying Rail are rather sharp around the edges and would do a nasty job on paint.  Also not so useful it your bike is not an easy to lift machine.

Maybe we could call this a "Temporary" Bike Parking Facility:

A facility where one can store a bike whilst drinking coffee and maintaining 1 eye on their bike at all times so as not needing the use of a bike lock or other long term securing system

That's the idea of it, better the a bike stack

Michael, according to the phone book and the web, think you mean Hyde Park rather than Unley Park.
Shop 1/156 King William Road
or transit: Stop 6 King William Rd - East side

Heather, you take everything so serious.

Most of us probably knew which Cibo Michael meant, Cibo Hyde Park.

Most of us possible plan rides around coffee shops and Cibo being one of the better ones!

Happy bike racking!

Thanks Heather.  Fixed :-)

Signs do take up some space but sadly some people need all the help they can get.

This might not comply but it's not meant as a bike locking station but a bike stacking/racking station so not to lean against shop fronts. Probably not even council install.

Alternatively, if there were no signs, people would tie up their horse or going by some of the folk in that area, prams and gophers. Lol

Dont forget the powerful limbo dancing community. They will licking their lips and rubbing their hands together to see this kind of resource going in.

These racks area great idea.

Nah I have it on good authority that limbo poles only comply with the World Limbostenics Standards Association Standard 4.1.2 Part 2 Limbo Poles Erercted in Public Places if the pole is height-adjustable.

Limbo is too easy. I think the real competition is to sit on the saddle while it's hanging up there and ride.  Winner is the person showing the fastest speed on the bike computer.

The bike pictured doesn't appear to have a bell or reflectors so doesn't comply with Australian Standards, as such it is fine on a non compliant bike rack.

It beggars belief that someone can supply what looks like a useful bike storage facility and some still criticise it. I'm off to ride my bike now, I might even lean it against a non compliant tree somewhere.

It's got a  mirror and a frame-mounted pump so it's just the sort of bike I'm happy to hang, lean or dump anywhere!

Happy trails Pat. Don't forget to post a damn good whinge about something when you get back :)

Had a great ride although the wind coming down Penny's Hill Rd certainly wasn't to Aust. Standards, scared the beejaysus out of me.
