Well the weather is starting to cool down and I think it is time for a new pair of longs.

I have gotten used to wearing bib nix and find my old longs not as comfortable as they once were so was looking into bib longs.

Can anyone recommend any bib longs or know of a good brand?

I was thinking of something without a chamois to wear over my normal bib nix but am open to suggestions as to why that might not be a good idea.

Cheers

Alex

@ Gemma I am interested as well in size L 3/4 length - how much?

Hi,

Can order them no problems.  I will be ordering next week (just waiting for the last order to be completed before ordering the next...) Delivery time 5-6 weeks, usually 5.  Choice of chamios.

Fleece Bib Knicker 3/4 length $132   (Lycra 3/4 $116)

Fleece Bib Tights $143.

Neoprene Bib Tight $169!!! (man it would have to be BRASS MONKEYS to want those!)

If you have the fleece arm warmers you'd know what the fleecy longs are like, Hmmm, toasty! :-)

to complete the hijack of this post ..............

@Gemma - pls order me a Medium Fleece Bib Knicker 3/4 length for $132 with endurance chamois Thanks :)

I'm not a big fan of Netti, but their roubaix bib longs are heaps comfortable. Got them at Bernie Jones last year.

I'll throw in my 1 cent worth... I use Ground Effects Jungle Jims and highly recommend them.  I usually sweat a bit on rides but these are excellent in regulating body temperature as they integrate Merino Wool into the fabric... I'm also a bit soft when it comes to being cold and these work great from 2C and I don't get hot in them even up to around the 20C mark.  No chamois so wear them over my nicks.  $89 plus cheap delivery.   Fellow mate wears the Daddy Long legs which are a bit thicker again and he loves them too.  His have a bit more protection up to the knees from front on wind chill and also have a zipper which makes it easier to take them on and off. Both of us own several ground effects clothing items as their quality is excellent.

Here's the blurb on the Jungle Jims taken from the Ground Effects web site.

"Woolly leg wear to ward off Jack on those frosty pre-dawn training rides or for strutting your stuff on the stage with Nureyev and the gang. They have no padded seat so you can wear them over your riding shorts, and tear them off once you've built up a head of steam.

> HighRise™ rear overlaps with your cycle top.
> Internal pocket with double layer of fabric warms your kidneys.
> Graduated compression-fit with 38% lycra.
> 100% flat seams for next-to-skin comfort.
> Hazard! reflective logos on each calf for increased nocturnal presence.
> Ground Effect tube repair patch for when you get caught short.
> Made by us in New Zealand.

Does anyone know any shops in Adelaide that sell Assos gear?

I have never bought Assos before but am thinking of giving them a try and first time around would rather pay the big bucks at a bike shop and get something that fits rather than going online and making big savings on something I wont use.

For me it's like bike helmets and shoes, I just have to try them on first.

The other option I am leaning towards is the dhb for online.

+1 for the Ground Effect gear.  I have GE longs and bib nix and they are lasting really well.  I went to their web site first but unfortunately they don't do bib longs.

Cheers

Alex

Alex - have you tried Bicycle Express on Halifax street? They stock a pretty large range of gear there including some Assos branded stuff. Worth a look at the least.
