and yes ... Piggott Range Rd is the most beautiful shoulder I've ever ridden.
Ride up Bains Rd first which is an equally nice piece of bitumen.

Pages Flat Rd without question - riding from Victor Rd end to Myponga Rd end
... then turn right and make the small incline out of Myponga before hitting the gas all the way down South Rd/Sellicks Hill.
I'm smiling now just thinking of that stretch.
Permalink Reply by RD6 on January 5, 2012 at 17:18 that stretch from Sellicks hill along south road is an absolute screamer ! and did one nice stretch today Wirrina Cove to Normanville is a classic route

+1 for Pages Flat...up Sellicks Hill, left along Pages Flat then left to top of new Willy Hill. Right and head to Meadows. Left and through to McLaren Flat. Left to Willunga and back to Sellicks via Biscay or California, Hahn
Permalink Reply by Troy Collett on January 4, 2012 at 22:39 Hindmarsh Tiers Rd looks pretty good too
Permalink Reply by snappy_don on January 5, 2012 at 10:39 For all those that enjoy Aldgate Valley Road, Check out the similar grade and scenery along the Sturt Valley Road down to Ironbank- where it offers you a couple of climbs, but it's beautiful country.
Yes, Range Road is scenic, although there's often a lot of gum tree debris on the road. I managed a miraculous high speed bunny-hop to avoid a large branch yesterday. Then the descent down Penny's Hill is a cracker.
Permalink Reply by Troy Collett on January 5, 2012 at 11:11 yeah snappy I wont ride Range road in windy conditions as I once rode down there as a storm was brewing & it wasnt good
Bull Creek road - down south - on the way from Meadows, to Victor. A great glide downhill, from the ridge.
AND
Lobethal Road, from Ashton as far as Lenswood - nice winding road; challenging hills; and lots of roadside fruit.
Also to be fair - South Road, south of Dawes Road to Flinders is not bad for an arterial road. If you have to go those places. Cycle lane, and broad lanes so the cars dont get too close. Other parts, and other directions, though....

Took Michael W and Matthew P there today.
