Assos for sure! Shell out for the Mille version, not the Unos. Trust me, they're worth the price. Best pair of knicks I've ever worn.

Bellweather bibs

def +1. I have two pairs and ordering more in the next couple of weeks.

Any castelli bib short with the progetto x2 insert is as good as assos based on owning both.

Assos if you have some cash. I like the PBK stuff for the price. The long thermo Knicks have been a life saver this winter.
Oh, just remembered the DeSoto 400 mile bike short is very nice. Probably the best pad for long rides. I use some of their tri gear for half irons and they are great.

Bellweather are good, around the $130 mark, Babici are doing bib nicks for $99 atm good quality. Good quality nicks are worth the extra dollar.

I currently have Pearl Izumi Elite and Pro bibs and a pair of Netti Team/Bianchi bibs, and they're all good.

The Pearl Izumi Pros have the best chamois (by far) and fabric, but the legs are cut too short and they're very expensive.  The Pearl Izumi Elite bibs are nice, but are kind of disappointing after wearing the Pros.  The Nettis fit the best, the chamois is pretty good, and they're probably the least expensive.

There are some good local shops for both the Nettis and the Pearl Izumis with good prices, and you get to try them on before buying.

i liike to support the local shops... but find it hard cause they dont really have the selection.... I understand it cost's them money to keep stock and the gear... but selection is always limited!!!! in my opinion

Can't sell a Merc if it's not on the lot!
No point paying the price of a merc and get a mini either...

My vote is for Castelli's with the Progetto x 2 chamois.
