Gday all,
The blue Belgian Up shirt has evoked an amount of questions and comments that i have not experienced before......
The locals in BrisVegas are certainly intrigued.
Many have wondered who and why.
Certainly a conversation starter.....
And seems to prove my stance against crappy imitation USA-college style logo shirts that many wear.
Thanks Gus....

I've told the story of its origin before. It was a phrase used by Adelaide author of a really great little book called 21 Nights in July (about the Tour de France and cycling from a metaphysical point of view... believe me it's good). Ianto used the phrase to title a gallery of photos on Facebook of his winter riding. Me being amused by it began also using it and I guess it came into the common vernacular. Incidently I did ask Ianto for his intellectual copywright and paid him for it. He says:
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I am the originator of the expression 'Belgian Up' as well as 'Belgian Up Sissy'. Preferably accompanied by a picture of a Belgian Golden Age hardcase like Schotte or Van Steenbergen, De Bruyne or, at a pinch, a young Merckx. I'm certainly happy to have it popularized.
I do have about 6 mediums left and one large by way of a shameless plug and like all good jokes it won't be repeated.

I have a Belgian flag on my bike for inspiration, however sometimes it makes me feel like stoping for a Stella and a lift home.
Someone I know got a "HTFU" Mug and a week later sooked publically about headwinds. Knew I should have got him the beer stein!
