Like keeping their hair carefully combed ... except they wouldn't be able to because of the mandatory helmets ... which would cause them to use their mandatory bell ... which wouldn't be fitted because mechanics have a blind spot when it comes to bells ... which would lead them to ...

OMG!

This could get serious.

Phil Ligget might have to stop talking about his glory days and talk about the RACE!

I'm going to have a lie down. The prospect is just too awful.

For the record, I like old Phil, even if he is doing a  Murray Walker and going ga ga.

Phil Ligget is light years ahead of Matthew Keenan, who rabbits on about what happened five years ago, and misses out on what is actually happening on the screen. I regularly hit the mute button when he is on.

I don't mind Matt but I know what you mean. I'm lucky enough to have Foxtel and their commentary team recently has been a couple of old pommies who've been much more fun than Matt ... probably just as annoying (what's this 'probably' word?) but quite good value.

I'm shocked and horrified at the moment. The ESPN coverage of Le Mans has an American woman (driver) commentating and it's one of the few times I've enjoyed an American commentator.

Matt has talked me off to sleep many a time, but I think we need some clarification of Richard's enjoyment of that female American commentator...

She's a pretty lady but no glamour puss. My pleasure comes not from the aesthetics but simply from listening to someone passionate about the sport, knowledgeable about the sport, articulate and able to mix it with the two pommy twits she has to commentate with.

Rather boring really, aesthetic challenges make for a much more saucey explanation.

BTW, I generally enjoy listening to pommy twits commentating - as a nation they do it (twit) so darned well. Yanks come from some obscure planet I don't relate to and Australians seem intent on doing the job 'properly'.

I'd like to see/hear Matt have a long career. It's nice to have the aussie touch.

Yes vanity is EVIL !

:)

Hey I got taken out by a mirror. This thing looked like the fricken Hubble telescope sticking out of her handlebar. You would think she could have seen me but no she swerved into me and of i went into the bushes.

Were you seeing stars? :)

Will be interesting to see if Armstrong fights it as then ALL evidence goes public, he may not want that....

"All respondents will have the opportunity to exercise their right to a full public arbitration hearing, should they so choose, where all evidence would be presented, witness testimony would be given under oath, and an independent group of arbitrators would ultimately decide the outcome of the case. USADA will continue to follow the established procedures that are compliant with federal law and were approved by athletes, the U.S. Olympic Committee, and all Olympic sports organizations."
