Hello all,

I'm new to this site and not sure if there's a special category for this, but I moved to Adelaide recently and am in need of a cheap bike. I have searched the usual sites (ebay, gumtree, etc.) but haven't found very many suitable options. I was wondering if anyone on here had any old road bikes laying around they were willing to part with for the right price.

Edit: I am 5'10, not sure on bike size, will check shortly. I am only looking for road bikes between $20-$100 ideally between $20-$50. Preferably a 10 speed. My main concern is frame and fork condition so if the crankset or wheels are in bad condition that's fine.

Also thank you to people so far recommending certain stores, I will definitely be contacting the co-op, however I posted this message to see if any members of this site had old bikes lying around that they don't use and would be willing to sell.

Regards,

Dan

Hey,

That bike looks great, I'll let you know by Sunday if I'll buy it.

Cheers,

Dan

I've just taken a photo of a Ricardo 27in that needs the gears adjusted, rear wheel trued, has a perished front tyre. Seat not included but I have another one for the bike. Would be a good project bike. $45

The last bike on offer is a 1970's Crannaford, cotter pin cranks, dyno generator with front & rear lights. No handle bars, they went to another project. Rides like a 70's bike! Bargain at $100.

Here's a free one: Giant MTB

If no takers, an AC member could pick up the bike and drop off at the Adelaide Bicycle Community Workshop at Long Street, Plympton. Donated bikes are donated to refugees and people on small incomes, or sold to interested cyclists. The latter pays for ongoing costs.
