Seems to me that if you like your bike you'll probably tell people about it and where you bought it which is probably the most effective way of saying thankyou.

Probably, sadly though I could not find a shop to build me a bike that I wanted for the price I was prepared to pay!
I had to build it myself!

But I for once agree with you Clive!

True

Some really nice sentiments there. And a great contrast to
The Rules.

That's what makes Surley's alternative answers so positive and refreshing.

Those "The Rules" are a pretty stale on going joke. Nearly every group ride i go to has some bright spark ... offering up a quote from the Velominati wisdom .... again

Personal choice of course but I find The Rules more interesting and entertaining than the Surley alternative. When I read the Surley list I get this vision of hell in my mind..... a hell where everybody is wearing smiley T shirts and as they walk past they turn and say "have a nice day".

The Grouch

turn that frown upside down ;)

I dont smile before 9am...Im just not a morning person.

:-I <==== thats the best I can do till 9am.

Try riding your bike in the morning till you feel sociable,

then login here and post what a great day you are having.

It's now 9.38 so my day is now going fine :)

....fu@@@k the rules.....just ride.....

Now youre talkin'!
