I wonder if the fence is sharper on the other side ;)

"Lots of people worked their asses off to build whatever you’re riding on. You should thank them."

No I shouldn't...I gave everyone involved in the building of my bike a five figure thank you the day I paid for the thing.

So by that thinking, the bike shop should just hand the bike over, take the cash and walk off? Fair swap cash for bike, see ya later?

Nice come back Gary :)

I don't quite follow how you read that in my post. The inane statement on the surlybikes blog site implies that when you buy a bike you're under some obligation to write a thank you letter to the factory where the bike was built.

How many people buy a car and then ring up the car factory and thank the people for building their car?

My thank you to the people at the Bianchi factory is choosing to fork out $xx,xxxx on one of their machines and also to wear the Bianchi colours whenever I go riding.

I'm obviously missing something here...

Gary and Pete, please PM me your addresses so I can write you thank you letters for responding to my post.

just get really drunk and write your compliments on their wall

... like a few other notorious A/C members would

Hi roger, hope everythings going well with you.

going well? getting greyer and grumpier everyday

Think I'll just get really drunk.....

I'd like to thank the Cooper's company for lovingly crafting the fine ale I am imbibing right now.
