Permalink Reply by Randall Oakley on January 28, 2012 at 8:12 Pity you didn't "accidentally" run over it.
We are getting more than our share at our place at the moment.

Yeah same thing happened to a mte of mine up at mallalla: riding along on his 250cc when all of a sudden its there in front of him, at least 8 foot or more of nasty brown snake on the path of his motorcycle....mate ran over it, did the same as you as in pulled his legs up as high as he could...funny thing is(or not so funny depends who you ask) he stacked the bike because of loss of control/panic and flipped off the bike, he somehow didnt get biten, the snake bolted after the crash. Mate found out how lucky he was to pick his legs up just in time, because his fuel tank had 2 big bite marks in them!! Crikey!!
Permalink Reply by Doddsy on January 27, 2012 at 15:18 I ran over a brown snake at castanbull, was moving so fast the only thing that gave it away was the hiss as i rode over it.
Poor thing, We'd have to be unlucky to get nipped.
Also my team mate and i were in Jindabyne checking out the wicked wombat enduro course, It was a night ride filled with constant russling bushes. About 15 minutes in he got hit by a wombat.
Wombat won and we figured out why they called it the wicked wombat.
