One of my favourite rides and the one that really gave me my first goal is coming up on November 4th.

Bugger. my lads 18th that day so no Amy's for me. I'll hopefully spend a few months in the lead up to the ride on training rides with Gill, CWL and others and not be able to take part. If he'd been born on time his birthday would be on the Saturday but he's never been on time for anything yet so I guess that's the way the cookie crumbles.

I am looking forward to my first Amy's Ride as I wasnt fit enough last time as I just started cycling.  This will be first mass cycling event, I cant wait.

Split the day into half? do Amy's ride in the morning & party hard after lunch with your lad's 18th

maybe all riders can end up back at Pats place to tell him of the ride, really rub it in.

Thanks Mick ;)

We always open the pressies first thing, meh it's only a bike ride.

I have the exact same problem, it's Nathan's birthday, but unlike your lad, Nathan was as impatient as his father and arrived 8 weeks early and gave us a bit of a surprise

looks like another pre- amy's ride needs to be sorted like last year pat.

Good idea Colin

Training for Amy's was my downfall last year ... but won;t make the same mistakes this year.

25km route that starts at the top of the hill - that might be doable for kids.

@ pat i will sort out some dates for training rides b4 and after i get back from England

@ phil i think they have a short route for people on the day that the kids can do

Like Paul, I am plannig for this to be my 14st "mass cycling" event. I would also like the BUPA to be my second. Let's see what happens closer to the time :-) I look forward to riding the Southern Expressway as aposed to the bike path!
