So Who's going? This has been touched on elsewhere but I thought I would give it it's own heading.

If you are going where are you staying and when etc etc,.

We (wife and I) are going over Saturday staying sat and sun night. We originally had accommodation at Airey's Inlet but have jagged a studio aprtment in Lorne right next to the caravan park and start. Found it by accident not sure if it was just well hidden on the net or is not of a very good standard but it's only two nights. If you are going hope to catch up with you there,

would love to do this but not going to be possible this year!

Certainly in my sights for 2013

+1

I am keen to go, need to judge my fitness by then.  Hope accommodation and entries don't work against me though!

maya it has a 4000 rider limit and it was filling fast. Accommodation in Lorne was at a premium especially for Saturday night. I believe I got very lucky to get what i got. As far as i can tell what is left is very expensive unless you are part of a big group to share rental costs. Plenty of rooms around for Sunday night tho.

Not sure yet!

I read some of your previous post and shared some of the thoughts expressed.  I hadn't realised the price until your post - I thoroughly enjoyed last year but don't know if I'm prepared to spend that much on this year's event.  It would have been nice if they'd offered a discount to the riders who helped cement it as a viable annual event.

Last year my friend and I drove across on Friday so we could have a relaxing Saturday before the main event (including a short ride), and stayed Sunday night also.  I'm surprised that the accommodation providers haven't made a 2 night minimum stay requirement and snag more interstate visitors who need at least 2 nights.

If I do go, I'd do at least the same as last year - minimum stay of Fri-Sun nights.

Well the last update was Monday april 23 - and according to that they had reached 2500 registrations equal to last years total in 5 days. Not sure how it has gone since then. I'm not sure how long you guys have to make your mind up. The website implies they have accommodation packages they will release soon but at the same time it encourages you to book asap. When you try to book via the various websites for Lorne it is all showing as booked out. Maybe these are bookings by the Amy's organisers but it is going to be crazy when they release them if that is the case.

Yes will be going! Last year we booked a house for the 3 nights.  Much nicer to head over on the Friday & chill!  Tis a big drive & we all appreciated the Saturday to have a lazy day checking bikes, brekkie, registering etc.

Have booked a large house in Lorne (Smith St) for 3 nights, so if anyone is looking for accommodation for the Gran Fondo - get in touch with me & we can discuss further, have a few spare beds!

Hi Chris

This is a late reply to your post - I have only just decided to do the Gran Fondo this year.  Do you still have space for a female in your house?  Cheers

Hey, I still have 2 beds left in the house, but would be sharing with a male in the same room?  So currently have 1 couple, 3 girls & 1 male.  The room the male has is a double bed & two bunk beds.  So not sure if you are comfortable with that or not?  Otherwise guess you could sleep on the couch?  Let me know & happy to discuss further....

Hi Chris, I have been able to sort out my accommodation - thanks very much though.  I am still looking for a lift (with my bike & bag) - obviously with contribution to petrol cost and driving if needed - if you know someone...  I can leave on Friday morning and would expect to return on Monday.
