I wonder if drivers would expect something so loud to be on a big vehicle, and so be looking for one, and not notice a bike. A 140db digitally-recorded yell or scream would probably be more effective (and would still be legal here).

Are you saying this would be illegal here David? Like it has to be a mechanically operated analogue dingadingading type device.. like only a good ol fashioned bell will do? I thought it was purely an 'audible warning of approach' required? Cars dont have to have mechanical ringers do they so why bikes? Is the legislation really that bl@@dy daft?

The legislation regarding bells reads "a bell, horn, or similar warning device, in working order". Can't see why this would be illegal by that definition.
Imagine riding up behind some pedestrians with Ipods on and letting out a blast, they would fair s..t themselves :)

@ Ian. No,I'm not saying that these horns would be illegal here. While a "real" (live) voice is not in law a sufficient warning device, a recording of a voice would be.
I suppose the coppers could get narky and book a rider for unnecessary use of a warning device...

This does appear to work on the video. Seems to have a strange, bird-like, electronic alarm sort of sound, rather than a traditional horn or bell sound. Personally, if I heard that, I would wonder what it was and not necessarily expect it to be coming from a bicycle. It might be confusing to people. Looks like a great device for safety, providing it doesn't make you deaf in the process.
I saw one that someone had a link to, on this website ages ago, that was like a mega loud big vehicle horn. Can't remember for sure, but I thought it needed a great big battery and that would be awkward and heavy.

Louder than the AirZound that was attached to my bike. The AirZound makes drivers parked in bicycle lanes jump -- good. Cannot use it in an emergency, because the button is not close enough to keep my fingers on the handlebar, while using my thumb to press the button. The hornit button looks accessible.

Yeah, I have an AirZound too. I love it. Sounds like a truck horn if you really let it rip - has saved me from being skittled at roundabouts a few times (seems the only place cars can't see me). They sure do jump when you sound the air horn coz they think they are about to be hit by a truck! It can be sounded with a quieter, short blast as well, so works well to warn pedestrians too - although I do tend to just call out to people instead. Sadly my AirZound doesn't fit on my new bike becuase the bars are too fat :-(
