I group of three enthusiastic riders met at Strath for the touring cyclists ride today.

It was the usual lots of minor roads and tracks

there were a few boggy bits

and more minor tracks

and even the odd puddle

we arrived at Milang at about 12:30 and had lunch near the jetty it was a cool but sunny day

the group returned via gun club road this had a few un-rideable sections of sand.

Perhaps I just need to harden up but when the rim sinks into the sand so far it is covered I think it is heavy going.

At about 3:30 I retuned to Strath it was a pleasant day with Ideal weather.

The plan is that next month the ride will be the Riesling trail from Auburn.

Perfect weather and no buses doing 50km/h to sniff the exhausts of....the largest traffic problem was the mob of kangaroos crossing the track ahead! 47km at an average 14km/h with a heady top speed of 31km/h down the Dry Plains Rd south of Strath.

An interesting track...

Going around the biggest puddle:

wow!  Milang is looking different!

We rode late April the Riesling trail, Auburn to Clare excellent, a few bumpy bits at the northern end past Clare.  One rider did the rattler from Auburn to Riverton & got many punctures.  By the look of your pictures it will be very easy for you guys.

I think the plan is to have an easy ride with even a few potential coffee shop stops to encourage people to get out.

Starting at Auburn if people get tired they can turn around and roll back to the start.
