After the ride report on the last ATC ride I thought I would post a reminder about the next ride.

The Adelaide Touring Cyclists will be having a ride on Sunday the 10/6/2012

It will depart from the  old train station (tourist information centre) at Strathalbyn at 10am

for those who need a late breakfast there is a bakery across the road or alternatively the local Woollies is about 100 M away and opens at 7 am on Sundays

it is planed to travel via the Nurrungi Conservation Reserve this is a rail trail

I think we will stop at Milang on the shore of Lake Alexandria for lunch.

and then return to Strath via dirt roads and tracks by mid to late afternoon.

there is some information in the  ATC Rides Calendar

this is quite a flat area and the road seem well maintained

I would expect the total ride distance to be about 45 Km.

Strath is about 60 Km from the toll-gate on the south eastern free way (Exit at Mount Barker).

The rides are usually on quiet back roads and often less than a dozen cars are seen on the ride.

If you are looking for a reason to dust off the MTB it should be a pleasant day.

Hi Don, considering I'm the ride leader, that's a fair summary. Having ridden this trail in the past the first half has a reasonable surface, the second half less so. BTW there may possibly be prickles, although I've never had a flat through there, or anyone else in the groups I've been with. Just pray to your favourite weather god for a dry track!
