The byline is a little harsh. A bit showy for sure, but I think the guy seemed to have it in order and control. If I saw that in person I wouldn't have batted an eye. The paper must have been short of content...

+1 He seemed to be pretty in control of it, and certainly wasn't going at an incredible speed. As safe as any of the hipsters on their brake-less fixies, and a sight safer than the ones who don't know how to ride them!

I'm pretty sure he is riding fixed, I do see a brake cable at one point but I could be wrong.

I have seen cyclists with the front wheel on the ground not ride as straight.

Nice wheelie.....the knapsack of house bricks on his back probably helped.
The guy is probably more in control of his vehicle than half of the motorists he passed.

I looked at the guy and thought courier. And then I thought who hasnt goofed off and acted like a nutter at work from time to time. I would be more concerned about the actions of the guy filming. Did he keep it legal?

A couple of fools who give bike riders a bad name. Are these two fools acting responsibly. Of course they aren't. It would have been interesting if a passenger had opened a car door. They'd all be jumping up and down about motorists etc, etc. Hoons ! I guess they will jump in their 'broom-broom' cars and act in the same manner.

Why are all the cars stopped? Are the front cars on both sides of the road attempting to turn right and the tailed back cars on both sides of the road blocking them from turning? If so that is a much better use of the term "Look mum no brains". Brings to mind Buridan's Ass.
Years back I saw a guy on a trail bike do a high speed wheelie along Grenfell from Pulteney to about James Pl over the median and back again at about 8PM on a Friday night - that was a real "Look mum no brains" moment.
