Hi guys, I'm a road rider from tassie who's staying in adelaide for a week starting march 25, and am looking for a few medium to quick group rides. I havn't ridden there before, and am keen to check out the hills or any river/coast rides. I've found a few in the cobwebs guide, and am keen to hear what the local opinion is... What are the best local groups/routes?!!

Cheers!!

Nic

Nic, welcome to Adelaide. There is a Bike SA ride on Sunday 27th around Willunga that many members of the site will be riding http://www.bikesa.asn.au/RideGuides_OnRoad_GrandSlamChallengeSeries... great series of rides, and well organised. I'll probably be organising something for Saturday 26th down to McLaren Vale, I'm just not sure yet how long a ride that will be as it's my 50th that day and I've things to do at home. Usually a 50km return ride as a minimum, 25km/h average, mainly on off road cycle track so nice and safe and time for a chat.

A popular route is the cobwebs route to outer harbor,  you might find a few doing that route early morning ( I think daylight saving ends before the 25th)

Where are you staying in Adelaide and are you available for mid week rides, you may find some takers for that.

Thanks for the info Patrick! I can't do rides on the 26/27th due to wedding commitments, so will be looking at weekday rides for sure. Mclaren vale sounds nice, will have to check it out.

The plan is to stay at walkley heights just north of the CBD. Is it easy to get across town quick e.g. to meet up for a ride in the south?

Cheers

Nic, I'm pretty much limited to weekend rides due to work but I'm sure someone will be available for a midweek ride. Walkley Hts is wrong side of town for me so I don't cycle that way much but Adelaide is not huge I'm sure someone can recommend a bike friendly route for you. I i do get a quiet day during the week I'll ride somewhere with you it will still be daylight saving until April so not dark until 7-30 ish.

Alright Patrick, sounds like a plan! A midweek ride it is. Good to hear Daylight savings will still be on.
Nic, find the Events on the AC Hub, halfway down the left column. You can click to view all events. You may find a ride there that suits.
