Adelaide Cyclists

Guys and Gals,

I made a simple A4 sheet that can be printed on any laser printer :) It's designed to 1 stample over the top tube and has the Adelaide Cylist URL and some words on both sides!

I was think this is so very cheap, 500 pages only A$10 plus a few $5 staplers to start marketing Adelaide Cyclists. See attached PDF (use it if you want).

I see 500++ bikes in the city everyday (mostly weekends)... I was wondering if 4-6 of us would like to get together and spend 4-5 hours riding around the city and covering bikes with them??

What do people think? I've printed up 50 so far and stuck about 10 on bikes around town, it's not much fun my yourself and a few more people would give me the confidence to just to it on all the bikes we find :)

ANYONE THINK IT IS A BAD IDEA?

G'day Paul. I think this is a great idea. As spring comes and bikes are getting dusted off and lubed up for the season it'd be good to get into some grass roots marketing. The group has had most of its success through word of mouth, Twitter and increasingly through search engines because the content on the site is hitting Googles buttons.

I have mentioned a couple of times before but I think it is time to pitch the idea of a meet up. My idea is to invite all to a 'brainstorming' meet really to plan for a bigger event - or a number of small sponsored events during summer and the cycling frenzy that is the TDU. The brainstorm could also look at ideas like yours - or even just distribute your printouts to get going.

I also would like to open up a request for any graphic designers who would like to create a cap or t-shirt design. A t-shirt any cyclist in Adelaide, member of this site or not, would like to wear. The same graphics could be used of version two of your idea.

Can I encourage everyone to have a say in this and pitch any other ideas for promoting Adelaide Cyclists and on cycling related events. I'll post more on those ideas soon.

Also, don't forget to just invite your cycling friends and user groups. The more the merrier.

Cheers and thanks again Paul.

Angus

i would like to get a group of people together during the week that don't work or have a fre day and bomb all the bike parking areas with them??? 4-5 people would be good. ride around and cause 'a little' havoc.

anyone interested?

Great idea. If they join Adelaide Cyclists or any of the groups, they will learn of cycling problems & campaigns.
