Hallelujah! Adelaide Cyclists new mobile site is now live. It's been a while in the making (not by me to be clear) and it still in beta.

As a new iPhone owner I was a bit annoyed it kept defaulting to the mobile site which was useless. The new versions allows you to read more, create and comment on discussions, blogs and your page. You can also update your status and share it to Facebook and Twitter - great for checking in from out on a ride to report hazards, incidents of Stava PBs and toppled KOMs.

The photos view, which I know is popular, shows the latest photos and keeps showing them in a grid and not limited to 100.

Another feature which I think is quite good is you can easily switch to regular desktop view as well.

Let me know what you think.

Looks easier to navigate on my Samsung galaxy s2. Might take a while to get used to though.
Had the site freeze up on my phone a few times.
Sorry Gus I dont like the mobile version as I can only see the last few comments on the site. I cant even access the normal site from my iphone anymore...even if I try the standard URL it keeps directing me to the mobile site. Thumbs down :-(
You can load previous comments. Getting to the web view is via the menu at the top right and Desktop View.

I think it is designed to be aimed at quick catch up over the full experience. There is a working group so any feedback is welcome.
sorry Gus not a fan of the new site.
how can I access the old side on my mobile device. if I remove the 'm' from the URL it just adds it back in.

HI Gus,

THanks for the new mbl platform, i guess this might help with people's net usage on their phone; I have no issue with over use of the data allocation (tho some may say i over use the net on my phone...) I prefer the access to the full site, so if that can be fixed up i'll just use that - know it, like it, know how to use it.

I agree it's weird it just knows you are on a mobile platform and shows you the mobile view buy default. You can easily get to the normal view via the Desktop View on the menu.

As a new iPhone user, but old iPad user, I can see pros and cons. One thing I do like on the iOS is the ability to click 'reader' when the browser detects a lot of text and it strips out the formatting for easy reading. I also like Instapaper app but now I am getting off topic.

As I said, I don't make this stuff but I can report on users ideas, bugs and so on.

menu icon:

but  every time you click on a new screen or return you have to press "desk top view" to see it the old way

must admit i prefer the previous service
