How long does the battery last if the camera is turned on but NOT recording?
As above if WiFi is turned on.
Testing last night would indicate I can get 1 1/2 - 2 hours possibly of recording time if recording continually, probably closer to the 90 mins.
I'm planning on getting a second battery for RLC and BUPA rides but wondering at what point I'll need to change it over. I would like to have the camera in standby mode and just hit the shutter for the good bits.

Permalink Reply by Patrick O'Kane on January 17, 2013 at 13:58 Thanks Matt,I probably won't turn the WiFi on anyway, not really needed on the bike, but I might use that on the 4WD with the camera on the bull bar.

Permalink Reply by Jarrad B on January 17, 2013 at 18:39 I have the gopro 3 black. I don't see a reason to leave the camera on standby. You can set it up to record as soon as your turn it on if that helps and you can turn the camera on and off with the wifi remote. Wifi will use the battery faster but i don't know how much yet.
I've filmed at 1080p 25fps with the battery bac-pac, it lasted 2hours 52min(took up 24gb).
Also i've been on a ride that i knew i didn't have enough battery life to record the whole time. So i did my best to preserve the battery but it is a pain as something good could happen at any moment.
I now have a spare battery and battery bac-pac to swap half way on longer rides.
