Police have made an arrest over the alleged assault of a cyclist on a Christchurch mountain bike track during Easter weekend.
A 45-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault this morning, police said. He had been bailed to reppear on April 23. Cyclist Jordan Brizzell, 24, said he was assaulted by a fellow cyclist on the Flying Nun track on the Port Hills.
The incident, caught on film using his helmet video camera, was sparked followed a dispute about "track etiquette'', Brizzell said. The video had gone viral online within days of being uploaded, receiving more than 97,000 views on video-sharing website YouTube.

Permalink Reply by Martin Turner on April 17, 2012 at 19:52 Was in Christchurch to watch the final on the big screen in Hagely Park. It was a freezing cold night but a huge crowd was there and the elation at the end of the game was unbelievable. I reckon half the people were just cheering because something had finally gone right at the end of a bad year for New Zealand.
Permalink Reply by Patrick O'Kane on April 17, 2012 at 19:57 I have a cousin who migrated from the UK to Christchurch, he's still there despite the quakes, loves the place.
