1st Magpie of the season :-)   Riding North up Blewett Springs Road.  Just past Ronald Road and about 400 metres before you get to Chapel Hill Road.  3 times he dived me (slow up hill) and he sits on the power lines.  Yep he marked my helmet and he attacks from the rear left.

I got done 4 times at Five Geese winery on Bleitt Springs Rd this morning, I think it's the same one. He was a persistent b@st@rd last year, looks like this year is going to be the same. I was going uphill too, probably slower than you Norm if he got me four times.

Yes that is the one.  The geese were sitting on the road having a bit of a giggle at the show.

.. a giggling gaggle. :-)  saw the maggies today - but they left me alone - I must be TOO slow.

They obviously prefer crabs to Mapei cubes ;-)

He must like Muddies Jerseys...the fast ones.

I'm safe either way then...

That'd be "Blewy". If ever there was a good reason to get a shotgun that bugger is it! I have a series of little holes in the back left of my helmet from last spring. He looked at me sideways a week ago but held back. The sight of Pat today was obviously too much for him though :)

I've seen a number of maggies up my way in nesting mode recently. It's gonna be a long winter spring.

Just checked my helmet and there is a definite "ding" on the rear left that I don't recall seeing before.

+1. Checked mine and marked on left side as well!!!
Hate this time of year!!! Have seen a couple lately looking out the corner of their beady eyes but haven't made a move YET. hope that it starts and finishes early this year!

I had my first magpie attack yesterday also .. it was on Burdett Road (runs from Murray Bridge to Mannum and Bowhill on the east side of the Murray River) about between the Karoonda and Bowhill turnoffs.

A few days ago an AC member posted a discussion about a magpie attack.
