Event Description

Adelaide to Middleton Beach, Monday January 3 2011

I'm riding to Middleton for a beach holiday. My DS is packing the kids, beach gear for the week and meeting me there. I'd be happy for company on the road so if anyone is keen to put some long miles into their legs before the TDU Community Ride, here's your chance.

Proposed Route
Bikely Map Approx 100k one way. Via Mylor, Meadows, Ashbourne, Currency Creek. Expected time almost 4 hours plus stops. We ride as a group, wait on hills..

Meet 7.00am Monday 3rd at the bottom of Freeway.

I'm carrying boardies in the jersey - I haven't arrived until I'm in the surf. Followed by beer and burgers in the hotel Elliot.

Option A. One way, arrange a lift home. If do you have transport home plus a spare seat/bike rack for a friend, please leave a comment here. Or if you'd like to come but need a lift home- please make it known. Lets share the costs/ time.

Option B. Ride both ways for 200k return :-P

Option C. Arrange to send an o/nite bag in my car, doss on the couch in my renta-house, ride home Tuesday.

I dunno how far away Meadows is. We are leaving Crafers about 7.30, so maybe an hour to Meadows- have a look at the map? I'll take your phone number with me and keep in touch while we're on the road.

have secured a lift back courtesy of my better half; have room for 2 more bikes on the rack and plenty of seats inside if anyone needs transport back to town. Would have loved to stay over but work the next day beckons, again....

I'll post up a proposed 'bikely' route and timetable for discussion to help drivers plan their pick-ups. If anyone has a spare seat in their car + bike rack and is happy to share it, let us know. No need for everyone to burn fuel.. And if you cadge a lift back, maybe repay your benefactor by buying them lunch at Pt Elliot??
