had a slightly unhappy return home when I drove into my driveway and promptly crashed, basically because of the dark. Don't think there's any serious damage, just wonky bits here and there to straighten up.

But oh so close! Good try! I was so busy yacking I forgot to watch out for the exit gate. Woke up to it when we reached the Curtis Road bridge! So did a U-turn and ended up adding a few more km for the day's ride. But so enjoyable. Nice clean SOB after the rain. Smooth as. And it started raining on me coming through Elizabeth West. No probs. Just added to the fun, except that was a bit hard to see through the wet spectacles lol. Another great ride. Plenty of huff and puff into the wind, and exhilerating dash downwind to top it off! Thanks fellas.

Comment by john mills on July 26, 2012 at 14:35: Might come out if the sky is not too dark in the west. Might go over to Star Cycles and check out options for changing over my rear cassette for easier hill climbing too. And/or still might have time to come out for a ride.

It might have to wait a couple of weeks because I think I will try saving up and spending a bit of money on some 'hill gears' first. I really need to slow down on cycle related spending. Glad I haven't kept the receipts from the last three months! Hard evidence for the divorce lawer!

@Pete, sorry to hear about your back. So soon after the hamstring. Hope the repairs on your bike are holding up at least. What a rotten run at the moment!
