Street: Main road

Latest Activity: Jul 20, 2014
It has been decided there will be no L ride organised for this day as is the case for August the 2nd. I have decided to re-run the ride that includes a 40 km L ride embedded in this P ride to provide an option for those missing out. The first 35 km's will be ridden as an L ride, at their speed, and the P group will have a 15 km section on the end at our own speed. This will add even more undulation on top of that from the L route and allow for a faster paced finish to meet up with the rest of the group at the cottage Bakery in McLaren Vale.
I am sorry this ride will not be a little more challenging to the regular P riders but I would like to include the newer riders under the circumstances.
The ride briefing will be at 7:30am and we will depart on the ride at 7:45am as usual.
This is intended to be a social group ride NOT a training ride!
This "Event" has been listed to encourage those people who would normally attend a P ride. Any other riders capable of this ride are also welcome with or without joining the group.
Reasonable efforts will be made to elect a Lead and TEC before the event. It is expected that riders will look after each other along the way.
The expected average pace of around 20 to 23 kph is a rough guide and will be adjusted for slower riders, if you can cruise at 28 kph on the flat without any wind AND can ride for 50-55 km's then you should be capable of this ride.
Regular regroups are encouraged to allow new and slower riders to catch up and rehydrate.
If you have ever wanted to go on group rides, the most important thing is to GET STARTED.
All riders with a mechanically sound road or flat bar type bike and an approved helmet are welcome.
All riders ride at their own risk and are advised to have public liability insurance, and to carry emergency contact details
DO NOT PARK IN THE ALMOND TRAIN CAR PARK. Plenty of street parking is available.
