Event Description

Challenge yourself on one of three professionally run courses of 35km, 80km or 160km through the stunning Barossa Valley.

The Ride to Cure Diabetes is an incredible event where people from all over Australia meet for the weekend, or just the day, to commemorate their fundraising and cycling achievements. You're guaranteed to have a great time with the JDRF Team, who plan a seamless event with a seriously fun itinerary, professional bike mechanics - and massages at the finish line!
Funds raised at the Ride to Cure Diabetes will make a serious impact on JDRF's research to cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes (T1D). JDRF is currently supporting up to 40 Australian T1D research projects, with dozens more that we would like to support.

Register at www.jdrf.org.au/ride  for the 2014 Ride to Cure Diabetes today to become part of a team that make a million dollar impact!

A big thanks to Tamara & the whole team, volunteers & the local Rotary for putting on a fabulous event today. I can only imagine how stressful it must have been with all those fires raging throughout the Barossa yesterday.
A tough yet sensible decision taken regarding the route change. You are to be commended.

My heart goes out to the communities effected by the devastation. Such a beautiful part of SA. Only time will heal.

Thanks again for what was simply an awesome day. I can't wait for next year!

Hopefully things settle overnight.  I noted GW have cancelled their planned Route 69 ride for tomorrow.

Paul, i just received an email (you may have one also) which suggests there will be some slight alterations to the route.  info will be given in the pre ride briefing in the morning.

I see there is a bushfire in Eden Valley at present, I wonder if it effects our route?

It will be my first ride up Menglers, 7% for 2.4 km

2 more sleeps.  pretty excited and nervous about my first big community/charity ride.  the fact that my daughter is type 1 diabetic makes it all the more meaningful for me.  thankfully the forecast is for a timely cool(er) change.
