To celebrate the Tour Down Under in Adelaide in 2013, we are proud to announce the Red Deer Grand Brevet during Stages 1-5 of the event between 20-27 January 2013.
This is a 500km challenge, where a 100km course to complete will be held on each of the 5 major tour stages. You will be required to finish at the designated time together after deciding when you need to start.
It is anticipated that in the week preceding the event, three distinct speed groups will be set up. We will all meet at Victoria Square at the same time and stagger our departure time to suit each group's speed.
Once the race has finished, we will ride/train back to the Tour Village and kick up our heels.

Comment by Maurice on January 26, 2013 at 19:50 Well where to start, what an awesome week riding some of the state’s best roads for cycling with a great bunch of people. Visited some great bakeries consuming many a calorie that was promptly burnt straight away. If you ever call into the Mylor Harvest café try one of their spinach, pumpkin feta muffins. You may be mesmerised by some tassels there so be warned :) (ask Michael Bland about this)
Big thanks to AVO for organising the event and to all who completed any of the brevet’s over the week. Huge kudos to all that completed 5 of the brevet’s, especially Georgie for her big effort over the week.
Finally relaxing with an ice cold coopers sparkling ale makes it all worthwhile. Look forward to riding again with you all sometime soon.

Comment by Richard Stevens on January 26, 2013 at 16:48 Hear Hear Rob! About to start my first beer once I've fired up the BBQ. Thanks Steve for organising a terrific event. Thanks to Carlyle too for his support. He can be assured that the jerseys won for those who achieved the milestones were certainly well earned!!
Comment by Patrick O'Kane on January 26, 2013 at 15:45 Got some footage on the Range and Wickhmas. Will need to edit it before I can post. Nice to catch up today.
Comment by RD6 on January 26, 2013 at 15:38 What a whirlwind brevet that was, took me to different hills that I never saw & kudos to everyone who completed the challenge. The beers are going down the hatch nicely & not going to touch the bike for few days
