Event Description

The third installment of this CERVO ROSSO GROUP RIDE with a twist!

Required:
1. A sense of adventure,
2. GPS cyclo-computer or Strava-enabled smartphone,
3. Vertically minded thinking

All roads lead to Mylor on September 8 for the third Red Deer Brevet - where you score points according to the route you take to get there.

The aim is to arrive at the Harvest Cafe in Mylor at 10:30 am for a well earned brunch. However, how you choose to get there is entirely up to you. You can start whenever you want, and get there however you want. Once you get there, you will be awarded points according to the formula.......

Climbing metres divided by km's travelled divided by elapsed time. (800m divided by 60km in 2 hours 30 minutes would give you 5.3 points as opposed to 1200m in 85km over 2 hours would give you 7.1 points and hence a higher points score)

Points will then be tallied and a random loading applied to qualified riders to find the winner (who may not be first past the post)

Ride conditions:
1. Must travel at least 60km
2. Must start your ride within the Adelaide Parklands - see parklands map here
3. Must arrive as close to 10:30 am as possible as penalties can apply if you are early or late

MAJOR PRIZES TO BE ANNOUNCED
(Liam Sloan was the winner of the last Brevet to Lobethal and claimed the magnificent Corsa S3 jersey)

Once we have enjoyed the delicious fare of what Mylor has to offer, we will return to Adelaide on-masse via a common route.

It is entirely up to you how seriously you wish to take up the points challenge. Let your route planning begin!

Anyone is free to come along and join us, however you need at least one CR kit item to be eligible for the prizes. Go to www.cervorosso.com to purchase or contact a CR Test Team member to borrow an item.

Note: No deer will be harmed during the staging of this event!

Another Brevet done and dusted in the sleepy hamlet of Mylor, the only town in the Adelaide Hills without a pub! All roads led to the Harvest Cafe where Trappy our event commissaire, was again there with lens ready to snap the arrivals as the 10:30 arrival time beckoned.

Stats were tallied, tables filled, yummy stuff consumed and some pics taken before a leisurely wind up Aldgate Valley Road to Crafers before the we descended down to enjoy another great brew at the Red Berry Expresso.

Oh....... and Con managed to win the Corsa S3 jersey by securing the double quotient bonus, which doubled his points. Special mention to Katie who climbed like a woman possessed to finish with impressive metres and time.

Of the 13 that rode to Mylor, these were the stats of the qualifiers.....

Agreed Rob.  I am about to order the S3 gear as well. (A few other bike related costs has delayed my purchase).

yes Derek...Cervo Rosso gear rocks as I have both the summer and winter gear....awaiting another delivery as the new S3 range is the best summer gear yet....even much better than the original Cervo Rosso team bundle I purchased almost a year ago....their product keeps getting better and always look forward to what they bring out next... bring on the gloves :)

Good luck Derek...you have been pytting in the hard yards training for this great event. The Harvest Cafe make some great food to refuel for the trip back to Radelaide. Enjoy and will see you out next time :)

My 'Secret Squirrel' course was ridden yesterday.  Watch for the magpies. Got zapped 3 times. Not saying where coz that would give my secret training course details away.   "It's Your Ride".
