Event Description

This is a decent length ride that you can bring your kids on. Previous rides have been much longer but will give this shorter 10km ride a go.

Kids are welcome to ride either on their own bike, in a trailer or even on a tag-along bike.

The ride starts from the bike trail just off Kangarilla Road next to Oxenbery Farm Winery and Cafe

Arrive at the trail any time after 1pm for an 1.20pm ride briefing and a 1.30pm departure. Will aim to get away promptly

The ride follows the Shiraz Trail to Willunga.

The track is undulating (ie. NOT flat) and will prove a good workout for most kids and for those adults who tow, so a reasonable level of fitness will be assumed.

The halfway point will be the Willunga playground at the end of the Shiraz trail. Here the kids can dismount and have a play for 10-15 weather permitting then head back to the cafe for a well earned cookie

All riders with a mechanically sound road or flat bar type bike (including mountain bike) and an approved helmet are welcome. It is advised that you ensure that your bikes and/or trailers, tag-alongs are in good working order prior to the day of the ride.

All adult riders ride at their own risk and are deemed responsible for any and all of the children they bring to the ride. It is advised to have public liability insurance, and to carry emergency contact details.
