A social group ride for riders new to the concept and fearing that they are 'too slow' for other group rides.
Meet 7:30am for an 7:45am ride.
Park near the Almond Train (on the main road) in McLaren Vale next to the bike track.
Averaging around 20kph to 25kph depending on the group, can be slower if required.
This is not a training ride and a Tail End Charlie will be appointed so that no one will be left behind.
There will be regular stops to regroup to ensure no one gets lost or left behind
We will also have the opportunity of having a chat and buy a well earned (and almost mandatory) coffee and cake at the end.
If you have ever wanted to go on group rides, the most important thing is to GET STARTED.
All riders with a mechanically sound road or flat bar type bike and an approved helmet are welcome.
All riders ride at their own risk and are advised to have public liability insurance, and to carry emergency contact details

Comment by RD6 on February 1, 2013 at 21:05 Wednesday nights = SSRC training rides, Sat P rides = group ride, stick with the 20-25km/h pace as advertised in the ride event description = no brainer

Comment by Phil Crick on February 1, 2013 at 19:51 It's a group ride so ride together as a group. If that means the faster riders have to slow down a bit or stop for a regroup then do that.
Stop whinging about it and get on with it, I'm sure you'll be fine.
Comment by Graham King on February 1, 2013 at 19:49 No problem Matt, we'll keep the pace steady up towards Meadows and just let us know at the front if the pace is too much. We'll make sure we have regular regroups.
Comment by Matt Jones on February 1, 2013 at 19:44 The only real issue on the last P ride through Clarendon was the pace at the start up to through to Clarendon. Matt Br, Matt Me , Greg and myself completely lost sight of the main group. Concerned with this ride that if we break up like that we will get lost. The ride from McLaren vale through to Meadows is going to be uphill and therfore we will have an autobus at the back.
