A social group ride for riders new to the concept and fearing that they are 'too slow' for other group rides.
Averaging around 20kph (can be slower if need dictates).
Starts and finishes in McLaren Vale at the Almond Train (next to the bike track).
This is not a training ride and a Tail End Charlie will be appointed so that no one will be left behind.
There will be regular stops to regroup on what will be a gently undulating track.
Main roads will be avoided wherever possible.
We will also have the opportunity of having a chat and buy a well earned (and almost mandatory) coffee and cake at the end.
Meet for a rider briefing at 7.30am for a 7.45am start.
If you have ever wanted to go on group rides, the most important thing is to GET STARTED.
All riders with a mechanically sound road or flat bar type bike and an approved helmet are welcome.
All riders ride at their own risk and are advised to have public liability insurance, and to carry emergency contact details.

Comment by Greg McEwan on June 9, 2012 at 12:28 Phil, thankyou for the great ride today. As a new rider it was not too far in distance. Can't wait to ride this one in summer when the weather is great.

Comment by Matt Koukourou on June 8, 2012 at 21:45 i'm out for the morning ride. unsure for the ragtag. i'll know better after the mornings work. have fun everyone.
Comment by Phil Crick on June 8, 2012 at 20:28 for those coming south down the veloway, good news, it's completely open from south road/marion road all the way through to beach road - no idea what it does after that as that's where I turn off for my place. You may need crampons and a snow shovel in the morning, but at least it'll be open.
Comment by Patrick O'Kane on June 8, 2012 at 19:49 Got to work in the morning so an early ride to McVale and back for me, probably won't stop at Kn S now. :(
