Meet at car park of Prices Fresh Bakery Golden Grove at 7:45am for safety briefing for 8am roll-out.

Route: GG are going to ride to Williamstown to watch the cyclosportif - 81km (initial uphill - then undulating to Williamstown - undulating and downhill on the way back)

http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/82216129/

The Grove Way - Yatala Vale Rd - Seaview Rd - Range Rd North - North East Rd - Little Para Rd - South Para Rd - Victoria Tce WILLIAMSTOWN where we will rest/refuel and watch the cyclo sportif before heading back along the same route - Victoria Tce - South Para Rd - Little Para Rd - North East Rd - Range Rd North - Seaview Rd - Yatala Vale Rd - The Grove Way

This will be a great ride. Don't worry about the first hill (lumpy bits) - if I can make it up there, anyone can! GG have done these lumpy bits before. We will plan frequent re-group spots and will have dedicated TECs that ensure no one is left behind.  The regroup spots allow everyone to go at their own pace - no pressure on the slower riders. So come along and give it a crack, you might surprise yourself!

We will be following the guidelines outlined in the .pdf here: http://www.adelaidecyclists.com/group/gully-grinders-north-east-cyclists/page/gully-grinders-group-ride-guidelines

This is a social group ride, all are welcome to join. Please RSVP on this event page.

Home, sorry for leaving the ride with 20km to go - think I would have done some major damage otherwise. An otherwise perfectly enjoyable ride and I'm happy to see that I'm getting fitter and quicker :-)

A perfect day has dawned, and with it the realisation that I still have too much work to do on an assignment to be able to join you today. Have a great ride!

Note the Cycling SA link for the Cyclo Sportif circuit map:

When we get to Williamstown what we decide to do will depend on the time... As Gus sys - it may be best to head North up Yettie Road (the Cyclo Sportif is anti-clockwise) and watch near Whispering Wall Road.  Or we can hang around the finish line with refreshments. But we'll see.

Hello, Sorry I did not make it last time. I would like to make it this time as for i was already thinking of riding out to the Sportiff and cheering on all of adelaides ambitious cyclists- and a few good mates i know out there! I just got to survive the previous day riding 108kms with the ol Gawler Wheelers. Should be a good weekend!

@Dean: perhaps we can keep your route 'up our sleeve' for a future ride? In regards to the cyclo - shall we play that one by ear on the day? I think it should be all over by 12-12:30.

@Carl: of course you can, just let the TEC of the day know so we can keep track of numbers otherwise we might think we've lost someone and go back to look for you.

Interesting ride, How long do we plan sitting around watching the cyclosportif?
Would it be better taking the flat ride back through Gawler then up one hill to The Bakery. This way would be quicker and we could be back earlier too

Looks like a good ride - would love to do it but don't have enough time on Sunday (for once  I  am available to ride !) - can  I  start with you and turn back at some point (say NE Rd)?
