Time to ramp things up a bit. Want to know how you will cope on Fri. Jan 25th?
Riding from Golden Grove we will pick up the BUPA trail a few KM from the proper start. Then we ride up One Tree Hill Rd and into Snake Gully, continuing to One Tree Hill up Cornishmans Hill Rd then turning right and onwards to Kersbrook before turning left for a Checkers and Gumeracha option followed by climbing Torrens Hill out of the Gorge.
The Grupetto Riders (might sound classy but isn't) will just ride across the top no Checkers no Torrens Hill.
Aiming to finish this ride well before the forecast heat sets in. If required tap water is available from the public toilets behind the Institute at One Tree Hill and also at Kersbrook
approx 72km with approx 1450m total climbing

Please indicate your intention to ride by making your RSVP on the right of this page.
Please try to install the map to your Garmin GPS or like device, it does make the ride a bit easier if all people know where we are going. No GPS? Then please have a careful look at the route prior to the ride. (Read the map)
We will re-group a few times and usually will have an experienced Lanterne Rouge rider helping the Autobus make it back. On this ride there are several Escape Route shortcuts available if you're struggling - just ask
This is a challenging but social group ride, all are welcome to join.
The Gully Grinders Group info is here
You ride at your own risk. All riders are expected to use a roadworthy and reliable bike and abide by normal group ride courtesy and safety. You must carry a bidon of Water, a Spare tube, a tyre lever and a pump and anything else you might need to complete the ride alone.

Comment by Dean Malden on January 12, 2013 at 17:55 I,m injured still with the legs still killing me. i will attempt to head to the Bakery.
I will asses the Legs when i get there as, Im struggling to walk. But i rode around the block and with kid & Trailer it felt ok. The hills between here and the Bakery will & should test. If i have to i will bail along the way but not B4 i let you know??
As I am clearly much slower than all the riders for this event I shall leave approx 15 mins early which should minimise the regroups and I won't be doing Checkers
Comment by Roger ... on January 12, 2013 at 9:49 Sorry to hear that Scott. Did you get a look at the resurfaced Checkers before you trashed your gears?
