Please indicate your intention to ride by making your RSVP on the right of this page.
Please familiarise yourself with the route map or better still, install the map to your Garmin GPS or like device, it does make the ride a bit easier if all people know where we are going. . (Read the map)
We will re-group a few times and usually will have an experienced Lanterne Rouge rider helping at the back. There are usually Escape Route shortcuts available if you're struggling - just ask
This is a social group ride, all are welcome to join.
The Gully Grinders Group info is here
You ride at your own risk. All riders are expected to use a roadworthy and reliable bike and abide by normal group ride courtesy and safety. You must carry a bidon of Water, a Spare tube, a tyre lever and a pump and anything else you might need to complete the ride alone.

Comment by Paul N on February 17, 2013 at 10:52 Arthur, no need to apologise. Just seeiing you on a bike AT ALL is an inspiration to those of us not carrying either your age or medical condition. I only hope in your shoes I would still be riding, downhill, tailwind, or otherwise.
All the best mate.
Comment by terry heney on February 17, 2013 at 8:41 Dont know what to say Arthur.. you have been an inspiring person to many of us out on the roads mate and you STILL ARE!!!!!! Lets just say this little set back will pass quickly and you be up and adam in no time hey :) Positives young fella. I am sure we are all wishing the best for you..Hope to see you soon mate.. Keep us posted hey :)
Comment by Arthur Seager on February 17, 2013 at 7:56 My most sincere apologies go to those who waited for me and/or turned back to look for me today. However, by the time I got to Hancock Road none of you were in sight and I realised the implications. 1. My age and medical condition have caught up with me so I'm outclassed unless I'm cycling downhill with the wind behind me! 2. You would have a long (frustrating for you and demoralising for me) wait for me to catch up at each regrouping. 3. I would have stretched the ride into the hot zone of the day. 4. I really wanted to let you know I was dropping out of the ride but there was no TEC and I had none of your phone numbers.
Now, for me, the future is not inspiring. The hormone therapy trial drug I'm taking is no longer controlling the march of my cancer and it seems, before too long, I'll be revisiting chemotherapy with unknow side effects . Consequently, I won't be riding with Gully Grinders again :-( but it's been great knowing you :-)
All the best, Arthur

Have to do this one again.
Cheers to all.
Our group page says the first ride was on the 12th of feb 2012 so i guess this one would be our one year aniversery.so happy birthday to us
Comment by terry heney on February 13, 2013 at 22:22 No speed here either Staunch so don't worry mate as I am sure you will keep up with myself and Roger with ease..Down hills take all the time you want mate.
See you Sunday morning I hope :)
Comment by Stauntch1 on February 13, 2013 at 21:59 @Roger,,, I wouldn't be planning on breaking any speed records, more concerned that I'll be right to stick with the group. As my picture shows, a little accident has me riding fairly cautiously down hills but I do love the challenge of the climbs. The early start will probably be the biggest challenge but I should be right! :-)
