Comment by Keith Davies on September 26, 2011 at 9:24 1st year of Grand Slam. Before GS3 my longest ride was 95Km so success in GS5 will be a substantial personal milestone not only in distance but completing the series. Good luck to all, safe riding.

Comment by RD6 on September 8, 2011 at 19:14 from memory that 206km 2010 grand slam took me 8 hours 30 minutes - I was shattered for days
Comment by Patrick O'Kane on September 8, 2011 at 18:59 200kms, better make sure I've got lights on the bike, could be dark when I finish.

Comment by Framer on September 7, 2011 at 14:36 @David - Last year was 210km - well done! Just to clarify for all concerned the start time is 6.30am. Unless your are a quick rider - starting past 7am will be discouraged for loop 1. In such case - loop 2 (93km) will be offered. For those who want to sleep in - check with the event co-ordinator for the latest time to start loop 2 (I think its about 10.30am)
Above says start time is 7am, my event paperwork and map says start time 6.30am?
As does BikeSA website:

Last time I did 200km it took me 11hrs, hopefully things have improved since then!
Comment by RD6 on September 1, 2011 at 15:11 a good 200km training ride folks
