Ride Details
The route is predominately a beginner hill climber's ride starting in Gawler and finishing in Gawler.
After leaving Gawler, the ride follows the Stuart O'Grady Bikeway (SOB) until the intersection with Curtis Rd.
The route then follows Curtis Road, passing through Muno Para, Blakeview and eventually Craigmore where a right turn onto Adams Rd takes the route through Craigmore Park before a left turn onto Uley Rd, which is where the real climbing begins.
Uley Rd continues upward, eventually reaching the intersection with Cornishmans Hill Rd where a right turn is made.
The route proceeds down Cornishmans Hill Rd where a carefully controlled descent is needed because there is a right turn to be made onto Tyeka Dr about half way down Cornishmans Hill Rd.
Tyeka Dr leads around to Black Top Rd where a left turn, closely followed by another left turn, starts the climbing again, but this time back up Cornishmans Hill Rd, eventually reaching the Gawler-One Tree Hill Rd via a short section of the now familiar Uley Road
The Gawler-One Tree Hill Rd is ridden for some distance before a left turn onto Potts Rd begins the final downhill run into Gawler.
IMPORTANT
The Gawler Wheelers Group Ride Guidelines and Group Ride Recommendations must be read prior to attending a Group Ride Event.
