Ride Details
The route is predominantly a beginner hill climber's ride starting in Gawler and finishing in Gawler.
After leaving Gawler, the ride follows the Stuart O'Grady Bikeway (SOB) until the intersection with Curtis Rd.
The route then follows Curtis Road, passing through Muno Para, Blakeview and onto Craigmore where Craigmore Rd itself begins the climbing.
Craigmore Rd continues upward, eventually reaching Medlow Rd, where a right turn continues the route to its peak at the intersection with the Gawler-One Tree Hill Rd, where a left turn is made.
The Gawler-One Tree Hill Rd is ridden for some distance before a left turn onto Alexander Ave begins the final downhill run into Gawler.
IMPORTANT
The Gawler Wheelers Group Ride Guidelines and Group Ride Recommendations must be read prior to attending a Group Ride Event.

Comment by Andrew Jacks on February 8, 2013 at 17:49 Juz, I know what you are going through. I could not even visit the web site. Get well soon.
Comment by Juz on February 8, 2013 at 16:47 My shoulder / arm damage is going to keep me off the bike for a minimum of another 3 weeks. Normally, I'd come up and see everyone for a coffee after your ride, but there is only so much salt I want to rub into this wound. :-(
Have a safe ride and enjoy the perfect weather!
Comment by Andrew M on February 8, 2013 at 16:14 hmm, i rather like the idea of 2 laps, maybe the second in reverse.
Comment by Peter Bond on February 8, 2013 at 15:45 Dave & Mick, Id be interested in a riding at least part of it backwards - up Alexander.
Comment by richard 1473 on February 8, 2013 at 8:37 If i can crawl out of bed on time i should be there, should be fun
Comment by Frank (GW) on February 7, 2013 at 17:59 Ride Day/Time Local Weather Forecast as at Thursday 6.30pm
Hi all. Below fyi is the Gawler weather forecast for Saturday morning. Well, once again it looks as though it will be soooooo nice for a bike ride! Two GW rides to choose from this week......all welcome.. Only two sleeps to go!!!!! C U there!
Comment by Brett on February 7, 2013 at 15:44 Carl that was my 10th lap and i was going for kom strava, No! hehe honestly that was my first lap and i plain suck at climbing lol.
I can go over carlton road easier than this one.
See you saturday Tec,you will hate me lol.
Comment by Scott Davis on February 7, 2013 at 13:29 Craigmore Road is my "local hill". Since I live part way up, I've never attempted it all the way from the SOB to to the top in one hit. For me, the killer part is just at the eastern edge of the suburb where it kicks up steeper for a couple hundred metres at most. I certainly got to remember which sign/fence post I reached at each attempt before I finally made it to the top one day :-)
Comment by Dianne Day (nee Sander) on February 7, 2013 at 12:45 Thanks for the encouragement Carl & Juz. See you out there :-)
