Ride Details
A hill climbers ride starting in Gawler and finishing in Gawler.
After leaving Gawler, the climbing starts almost immediately with the steady rise of Potts Rd followed by the Gawler-One Tree Hill Rd. The Gawler-One Tree Hill Rd provides a few fast/slow undulations before the downhill run to the Humbug Scrub cross roads.
The long steady climb of the One Tree Hill-Kersbrook Rd takes the rider up and over the 500m peak above Mt Crawford Forest followed by the fast descent into Kersbrook. The ride continues south via South Para Rd to Chain of Ponds and the Millbrook Reservoir.
After a short section of Torrens Valley Rd, a left turn onto Tippett Rd followed by another left turn onto Gorge Rd leads to Cudlee Creek. A right turn onto Cudlee Creek Rd starts the climbing again and continues the route to the township of Lobethal where a break will no doubt be welcome.
Exiting Lobethal via Main St and the Adelaide-Lobethal Rd, directs the route towards Lenswood where a right turn onto Coldstore Rd leads to Fox Creek Rd and an extremely fast descent back to Cudlee Creek Rd.
The route returns to Gawler via the same outbound path, until a left turn onto Alexander Ave from the Gawler-One Tree Hill Rd, starts the final downhill run into Gawler which completes the ride.
IMPORTANT
The Gawler Wheelers Group Ride Guidelines and Group Ride Recommendations must be read prior to attending a Group Ride Event.

Bad luck Andrew. Looks like a great new route. But it will be offered again I am sure.
Comment by Frank (GW) on August 10, 2012 at 20:20 Good evening all. Looking like two great groups for tomorrow's rides!! Are you ready?? Couple of last last minute reminders if I may:
1. It will cool early on so don't foget your full gloves, arm warmers etc.
2. Check your tyre pressure....suggest 110-120 psi. Incorrect tyre pressure = more punctures.
Be good....see you in the morning....be there!!!
Comment by Andrew M on August 10, 2012 at 19:37 probably a no-show - still feeling like s***e.

Comment by Dave, Lewiston on August 6, 2012 at 21:39 Michael, I did suggest to Wilson that a regroup at the bottom of Fox Creek road might allow a few brave souls to tackle that climb - then we all meet up at Lobethal and attack a bakery.
Depends on the logistics and the size of the group on the day, I suppose. Maybe going up Fox Creek Rd is route 47! Lets see what develops...
