Ride Details
An undulating ride starting in Gawler and finishing in Gawler.
After leaving Gawler, the ride joins onto the Gawler Bypass before linking up with the Gawler-Kapunda Road. A right turn at Roseworthy Road leads to a short section of the Sturt Highway before the undulations of Gomersal Road continue the ride towards Tanunda.
A left turn at the end of Gomersal Rd leads to the picturesque entrance of Tanunda where Murray St is ridden through the town centre and continues along the Barossa Valley Way towards Nuriootpa. A right turn on South Tce followed by a left turn onto The Crescent, leads to the start of the 6.5 km Nuriootpa to Angaston Bike Path.
The Bike Path eventually reaches Washington St in Angaston where a left turn connects with Sturt St and leads to Murray St. A loop of Angaston's town centre via a combination of Murray St , North St, Dean St, Sturt St (once again) and Fife St leads back to Washington St.
Exiting Angaston via Washington St continues the route until the intersection with Stockwell Road, where a left turn is made which eventually reaches Light Pass Rd where another left turn is made. Light Pass Rd becomes Bethany Rd, which is then ridden until the return to the Barossa Valley Way is complete.
The Barossa Valley Way begins the return journey, passing through Lyndoch and Sandy Creek and eventually reaching Gawler.

Comment by Pete Roberts on November 29, 2011 at 20:38 Cheers for the good wishes guys, I"m quite looking forward to it.
Had a good bit of training tonight with 3 of our GW team,
Dave L, Michael W, Dale R & I, blasted up & back the SOB with a fabulous tail wind, but then had to battle the wind all the way back to Hillbank...

Comment by J.B. on November 29, 2011 at 19:57 I'll be missing this ride. Am saving myself for state Mountain Bike Champs at Eagle Pk on sunday. Hey Pete all the best for your first race with AHVCC.
@ Pete glad to hear you are going out to ride with the AHVCC. Chris rides most events but unfortunately he has to work else we would have been happy to introduce you to people. Chris uses the GW ride on Saturday to warm up for Sunday's race... he does the flat/undulating rides.
